Heeeeeyyyyy! Remember Internet V1 where there were blogs and discussion boards and chat groups and cool niche stuff around each corner? Where it was ENTIRELY possible to not ever find what you were looking for because it didn’t exist on the Internet yet? (If a meme never went on the internet, did it exist in the first place? What is the sound of one hand clapping?) I WAS THERE.
So was J Yuenger! Fantastic blog which is no longer around. Elsewhere here is “So You Wanna Join a Band?” which is a great overall dirt-to-stadium read on making it in a band. A ton of it still applies, even though it was written pre Internet.
SO that said, after I had been in and out of updating this site with a ton of info for years and years (since lost, sorry) I got myself into a local band! Not only a local band but a local POPULAR band. (Say what? You are in a band AND you were around when the internet was invented?) YES.
Now I didn’t know we’d be popular, and it’s super weird, but it’s also super fun.
I have to run, more to come on being in a band (from my perspective). J’s advice is super SUPER helpful on all levels, and I wouldn’t be where I am without it.
*YMMV is a common abbreviation from Internet V1 – “Your Mileage May Vary” which is hot-rod speak for – “Results Vary” aka the very fine print on medical commercials without the doctor’s warnings.
